Aunt Ardie

Last week was really hard for my family. Our Aunt Ardie passed away. She had had a very long life of 95 years and her last few weeks had not been easy for her. I had not known her the way my Mother and her cousins did. So at the funeral I learned a bout a whole new Ardie. Even MaLinda would say how she loved going to Aunt Ardie's house and all the fun they had there. When I went to her house it wasn't always so fun. It seamed that I was always in trouble. I couldn't do anything right at her house. There were somethings that I did love about going to her house was the laundry shoot. that was fun sliding down. I do remember yogurt. I don't know why but I remember her giving me lime yogurt. I also remember her tv trays. The black ones with the pink roses, her setting them up in her kitchen so I could color on.

I am really happy that she has moved on to the after world. Where she can be with her husband who passed away about 60 years ago. They are together catching up and taking long walks (or running like my dad thinks because she hasn't been able to ambulate very well for many years) I hope she is happy. She will be missed.

Summer Fun!

<
Well, Summer is in full swing. But JJ is going to summer school. He only has to go half days and only for the month of June. One more perk about going to summer school is that at the end they all get to go to Seven Peaks water park. JJ is so excited. He can't wait. I am not sure what he will be doing next month. I don't want to leave him home all alone the whole day. but he is getting too big to have a babysitter. I guess we will deal with that in 2 weeks.

JJ and Andrew had a sleep over last thursday and Friday. That was a first to have two nights in a row. They were amazing. They had so much fun. There wasn't any arguing or disagreements the whole time. Nothing but fun.

Saturday June, 13th was our Lloyd reunion. That was so fun. It is always good to see family. It is sad that we only see them 2 times a year. Luckily we do have the summer party and the christmas party. Even though a lot of people in our own family were missing. Like most of us, Mom, Dad, Shauna, Rodger, Kevin, Annie and all of their kids. It was fun. But they were missed. I was acctually on time even early. I told Margaret that if Mom and Dad were there I would most likely be late. I am not sure how that works.

We had lunch and pot luck dessert table. Allways very yummy! Than we had fun games for the kids. A Fishing pond. Bean bag toss, knock the cans over, bubbles. All the kids came a way with plastic snakes, spiders and bugs and tons of candy.

We lucked out. It didn't rain until the very end when we were packing up to leave. Of course MaLinda's kids Katie and Alyssa had to go out and get wet. Than andy and JJ joined in it was all was really funny. MaLinda even told them to get out of the rain. But I reminded her that if she was a kid she would have been out there with them. Maybe even now if she hadn't been so worried about Aunt Ardie.

Last day of school

Last Friday was JJ's last day of school. It was a fun filled day. (Even though he started summer school today), he was very excited to be out. The day was so busy. It start with a dance program put on by Spring Creek Elementary. Every grade did a dance. The 4th grade danced to Thriller. It was very entertaining. If I figure out how to load videos I will post it. Some of the other dances were really fun. The kindergarten danced to an ABC song, really cute. There was a square dance, hip hop, beach boys, Indian(from the country) all very well done.

After we gathered all of JJ's many things and took a picture with his teacher we went to the park for a picnic. Chinese food in the park, doesn't get much better than that. While at the park JJ noticed that the veteran's pool was open so Than JJ really wanted to go swiming so we went swimming. After all of that we had Arielle's high school graduation to attend.

Arielle's graduations was really nice. As always with graduations some of the speakers were really dull, but some were very funny. She is such a beautiful person. We are so proud of her. When the graduation ended we went to eat with Victor, Angie, Juan, JJ and me at a Chilean restaurant. very good.

So anyway it was very busy day but full of fun. We were so tired I think JJ slept until 8:30 the next day. MIRACLE.
